‘First-edition? stamps which feature images shot by photographers Rankin and Penny Lancaster are up for grabs in a project to raise money for charity.

The images are themed on Motherhood in a project timed to coincide with Mothering Sunday on 18 March.

Cash raised from the auction will be split between the charities Women?s Aid and Help The Hospices.

Bids must be made through a ?sealed bid? process. These must be sent to Royal Mail Smilers® Auction, 101 Goswell Road, London EC1V 7ER.

There are two sets of 20 stamps available, one for each photographer.

The auction closes at midnight on Sunday, according to a spokesman who told us that the stamps would not be generally available through post offices.

The public can buy one of 50 limited edition sheets of 20 stamps, for £50.
