Photokina will give photographers the chance to see Leica?s new Pradovit D-1200 projector, which is billed as the smallest and lightest model in its class.

The unit features a Leica Vario-Elmarit-P lens, designed for a projection range of 1-15m.

?The Leica Pradovit D-1200 offers optimally adapted colour management for photo realistic image reproduction, with an image format of 16:10 due to the Digital Light Processing display technology from Texas instruments,? claims the firm. ?This reflecting chip technology provides an actual resolution of 1920×1200 pixels.?

The projector is due out in November priced £7,990, including VAT.

Leica says that, as well as displaying digital images, the projector can show films in ?full HD quality?.

Photokina opens to the public tomorrow (Tuesday 23 September).
