Amateur Photographer (AP), the world?s oldest consumer photographic weekly magazine, has been given a makeover and goes on sale today in its improved format.

The 124-year-old publication contains a host of new features and this week includes a free Guide to Digital Photography DVD.

As well as a redesign, readers can expect at least a quarter of the magazine to be devoted to articles that help the serious enthusiast improve his or her photography.

AP?s team of experts now includes landscape photographer David Clapp, wildlife photographer Steve Bloom and top garden photographer Clive Nichols.

Commenting on the new look, AP Editor Damien Demolder said: ?What?s important is that it is made differently and has different ingredients.? He added: ?It is still the first place for news, tests and interviews ? but now we?re offering a lot more practical information that will really influence the way you take pictures.?
