Pentax has updated its 100mm f/2,8 macro lens making it weather resistant to compliment its weather-sealed DSLRs such as the K-7 and K20D. The new smc D FA 100mm F2.8 WR Macro, with a aluminium housing has close (30.3cm) focusing capabilities for 1:1 (life size) magnification and 9 elements in 8 groups. The KAF2 mount optic is compatible with both full-frame and APS-C format cameras, but the optic is optimised for use with digital models.
Pentax?s SP (Super Protect) coating on the lens? from element helps to repel dust, grease, water and fingerprints. In addition, the Quick-Shift system enables users to switch to manual focus with a twist of the focus ring.
The lens measures 65×80.5mm, weighs in at 340g and takes 49mm filters.
