Panasonic has today announced the Lumix DMC-FZ48, a digital compact camera sporting a 24x optical zoom lens and Full HD movie recording.
The f/2.8 lens on board the 12.1-million-pixel FZ48 is designed to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of 25-600mm zoom.
The FZ48 is expected to arrive in UK shops in August.
Features include a 3in (460,000-dot resolution) LCD screen, Venus Engine FHD and Intelligent Resolution technology.
Panasonic has also unveiled the Lumix DMC-LS5, a 14.1MP compact carrying a 26-130mm (35mm equivalent lens). The LS5 is due out in October.
Prices for both models are yet to be confirmed.
