Olympus has unleashed the Pen E-PL1s, a variant of the E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds camera, which boasts an equivalent ISO expanded to 6400.

However, differences over the E-PL1 are largely cosmetic and the camera will only go on sale in Japan, according to Mark Thackara, national marketing manager for Olympus UK.

The silver band on the top and side of the camera body has been changed to match the body colour.

The E-PL1s will be kitted out with Olympus?s new ?silent focus? 14-42mm lens which will be available separately and make its way to Europe at a date yet to be confirmed.

The new model is due to go on sale in Japan in early December.
