Up-and-coming commercial photographers can apply for one of three new £5,000-a-year bursaries to help them on their way.

Announced by the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) the youth bursaries will be funded by Jeff Vickers, chairman of Genix Imaging whose clients include Nike, M&S and Selfridges.

Each bursary scheme will run for three years, with the first expected to start this year.

Applicants must be under 25 years of age and either already working in commercial photography or able to demonstrate a desire to do so.

Applicants must also show a ?flair for imaging and creativity in their work?, plus ?enthusiasm and dedication?, according to the RPS.
