A photography enthusiast from London has won a Canon DSLR in a macro photo competition run in association with the creators of the Lost Planet 2 video game.

Ruta Mackelaite scooped a Canon EOS 7D in the contest that challenged photographers to create photos that ‘play with perspective’ and ‘use macro to create objects out of proportion’.

Lost Planet 2 creator Capcom said it was after real-life photos that create the illusion of size.

Ruta also bagged a 15-85mm lens and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II flash unit in a prize package worth more than £2,000.

On hearing of her triumph Ruta said: ?Thank you to AP for opening a path of learning to me about the macro world. I have been working lots with my new macro filter and am really enjoying macro photography now.?
