Jessops has opened a new store in Exeter, Devon – the 48th to open under 'Dragons’ Den' entrepreneur Peter Jones, who took over the business in 2013.

The Jessops shop, at 235 High Street, Exeter, offers ‘try-before-you-buy’ product displays, one-to-one tuition, a trade-in service, sensor cleaning and an on-site lab.

Store manager Jennifer Lewis said: ‘We are so pleased to be opening the doors of our brand-new store here in Exeter…

‘We are confident that our team will do a fantastic job of making our customers feel they have received more than they came in for – from advice on cameras through to our range of services and Academy [training] courses.’

Jessops’ presence under former owners ended in 2013 when the chain shut down 187 shops nationwide.

Earlier this year, Devon Camera Centre closed its Exeter shop, bringing to an end more than 50 years of business as an independent retailer.
