Press release

Capture safari images like never before! The first Jessops photography specific safari course, in partnership with Your Safari, starts in March 2016 in Namibia.

Jessops has recently announced its partnership with Your Safari to offer tailor-made safari breaks created specifically for photography enthusiasts – both amateurs and experts. This partnership is the perfect trip for photographers who want to capture the very best images possible on safari.

Ian Savage, Head of Jessops Academy Photography Training comments, ‘Jessops has an unrivalled heritage in photography and is the UK’s leading photography retailer. With over 80 years of expertise and a highly trained team of experts, there is no one else better placed to offer photography courses on a national, and now international level. The safari photography courses are the latest addition to our comprehensive portfolio of photography courses and we are proud to be the first national retailer to offer such a course.’

The Experience

The combination of Jessops’ photography specialists with Your Safari wildlife experts means that you can enjoy knowledge and expertise that is second to none in both the subject and area. These specialists are able to track as well anticipate the movements of wildlife in order to help photographers get these elusive, exclusive and exceptional shots.

The safari photography course is suitable for both beginners and professionals as tutoring will be customised depending on individual requirements. There are two specific expeditions which guests are able to choose between, one being focused on the highlights of Namibia – including both stunning landscape and unique wildlife opportunities. The other is mostly for wildlife photographers concentrating on the beautiful Etosha National Park. The opportunity for nighttime photography is also available, aided by floodlit waterholes and starlight trails – sleeping in Etosha is often an optional extra.

The safari vehicles are specifically adapted to make sure photographers can capture amazing shots from all angles. Accommodation on the trip varies from a good quality B&B on the coast to beautiful five-star lodges further inland.

The Location

Namibia is a top destination for photographers throughout the world, with the Etosha National Park being an ultimate location for wildlife and landscape photographers alike due to its stunning scenery. The country is large but sparsely populated so the light is clear and the air free of pollution, creating the ideal setting for photographic creativity. The wealth of wildlife in Etosha National Park is like no other country in Africa.
