Magnum Photos and Photo London, a major new international photography event at Somerset House in May, today announced the nominated photographers for the inaugural edition of their collaborative photographic award, supported by RBB Economics, aimed at recent UK graduates.

The Graduate Photographers Award will provide a new opportunity for photographers, acknowledging the best emerging practitioners and providing them with exposure to both a public and highly professional audience. A nomination team comprised of ten highly skilled industry experts have each put forward ten outstanding photographers who have graduated from a UK degree course relating to photography or lens-based media in the last three years.

From these nominations, a selection of ten photographers will be identified by Magnum Photos and the Photo London Directors and announced in an exclusive event at the fair. Finalists will win mentoring from a Magnum photographer, a portfolio review event with the nomination panel and a slideshow of their work at Photo London 21st – 24th May 2015.

The Graduate Photographers Award builds on the collective commitment from Magnum Photos, Photo London and RBB Economics in the support, development and advancement of early career photographers.
