Hewlett-Packard (HP) has unwrapped four new ?compact? photo printers featuring a printing resolution of 4800dpi. They are all due in UK shops next month.

The first, the Photosmart 335, weighs less than 1.4kg and is billed as the ?perfect portable device? for printing holiday snaps while ?on the beach? or at home.

The £149.99 model can be equipped with an optional travel battery (priced £47) which – claims the company – allows up to 75 pictures to printed on a single charge. The battery can also be recharged using an in-car adapter (£19), also sold separately.

The Photosmart 335 is designed to print 6x4in and approximately 12x4in ?panorama? photos in 60 seconds, according to HP, and contains slots for memory cards including CompactFlash, Memory Stick, Secure Digital and xD-Picture Card.

Meanwhile, priced a penny under £200 is the Photosmart 385 which includes a Bluetooth adapter for wireless printing direct from Bluetooth compatible camera phones.

Also designed to be portable is the Photosmart 475 which includes a remote control for viewing images on TV. It comes with a £249.99 pricetag, as does the Photosmart 422 ? a kit which includes a printer, Photosmart M415 digital camera (5.2 million pixels) and docking station, hailed by HP as a ?Portable Photo Studio?. All print to approximately 6x4in and 12x4in.
