A £5,000 cash prize is up for grabs to the winner of the International Garden Photographer of the Year, a contest that was last year won by an amateur.

Open to professionals as well as enthusiasts, this year’s competition features eight categories.

Rosanna Castrini from Italy beat 18,000 entries to take last year’s title.

Rosanna triumphed with a photo called ‘My Prairie Garden’, which documented a newly laid flowerbed outside her home in Bricherasio, northern Italy.
