Fujifilm has today announced a wireless-enabled digital compact camera designed to directly transfer images to devices such as smartphones so they can be posted on websites like Facebook.
Due in the UK at the end of September, priced £279, the 16-million-pixel FinePix F800EXR sports a 20x lens built to deliver the 35mm viewing angle equivalent of a 25-500mm zoom.
A free Fujifilm Photo Receiver app first has to be downloaded onto the phone or tablet to enable wireless transfer from the camera.
The transfer does not require access to a Wi-Fi network as the devices communicate to each other directly, according to Fuji.
The FinePix F800EXR includes raw file capture, a 3in LCD screen, Film Simulation modes and a Full HD movie option.
Pop Colour and Dynamic Tone are among the digital filter effects.
