The winner of a Fujifilm street photography competition run in conjunction with Amateur Photographer (AP) magazine has been named.

Polish-born Monika Leszczewicz triumphed in the AP/Fujifilm X-Pro1 Experience day, which took place on 23 August and was open to photo enthusiasts.

Monika, who lives in Guildford, Surrey won Fujifilm’s flagship X-Pro1 compact system camera and a 35mm lens.

Participants joined AP Editor Damien Demolder for a day of shooting and instruction that ended in Greenwich, south-east London with a critique of images.

Commenting on Monika’s winning shot (see below), judges said: ‘This is a striking picture which works because the subject is fascinating.

‘Monika forces us to look exactly where she wants us to look through her careful use of focus and aperture choice.

‘The picture gives us a great idea of what it is like to be in that market and captures the atmosphere at the time.’
