Virgin claims trains have been delayed by 15 minutes as the legendary Flying Scotsman steam train travels from King’s Cross in London to York.

‘We’re reminding people: Keep off the tracks. Stay Safe. There are live trains running,’ warned Network Rail on Twitter.

It added ‘We’ve had to stop all trains on the East Coast Main including #FlyingScotsman because of huge number of trespassers. Please don’t.’

Serious railway enthusiasts, who care about the future of our railways, will not go on the tracks. These are trainspotters – and British Transport Police MUST prosecute them to the full extent of the law.
