Canon has this morning unveiled the first dedicated telephoto zoom lens for its EOS M compact system camera.

The EF-M 55-200mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM, the fourth lens in the EF-M line-up, will cost £329.99 when it debuts in the UK next month.

In 35mm viewing angle terms, the focal length equates to 88-320mm.

Features include a ‘3.5-stop’ Image Stabilizer, manual focus ring and Stepping Motor Technology, designed to deliver ‘near-silent focusing’.

The new lens has seven diaphragm blades.
