On the eve of the seventh anniversary of the photographer’s death, oganisers of the project, called Darkroom – The Obsessions of Bob Carlos Clarke, say they need to raise £80,000 by 27 April.

So far, they have raised £10,000.

The Bob Carlos Clarke Foundation and The Little Black Gallery in Chelsea are helping to make the film.

A similar appeal was launched two years ago.

The photographer died in March 2006 after being struck by a train at a level-crossing in south-west London.

An inquest heard he had taken his own life.
