Former England football manager Sir Bobby Robson, who has died today aged 76, was reportedly the first player to negotiate an image rights deal.

Robson was reportedly paid ‘three guineas’ for his photograph to appear on cigarette cards when he was a player in the 1950s and 1960s.

Robson, who managed Newcastle and Ipswich, died after a long battle with cancer.
