AP managed to get some time with Nikon's Professional Services and Business Solutions Manager James Banfield to go over everything that's new about the Nikon D4s

At the Broadcast Video Expo 2014, AP’s Technical Writer Jon Devo spent some time with James Banfield from Nikon UK to get the inside story on the update to the firm’s flagship DSLR, the D4s.

Chief among the improvements on the Nikon D4s, according to James, is the new Expeed 4 processor, which significantly improves the noise and colour control, allowing the D4s to operate at hitherto unexplored ISO heights of ISO 409,600.

James also spoke about professional photographers who’ve had a chance to play with the D4s, and gave his verdict on how the new DSLR stacks up against the competition.

If nikon listens to its customers then it must be only the pros with plenty to spend on their top of the range cameras cause they sure as don’t listen to all the nikon owners who want a D400 many a loss to canon for that reason

Looks a fabulous camera – I want one….BUT the price difference between US and UK is disgusting around £1000 – I can book 2 returns to New York and a hotel, buy the camera there…and keep my Mrs happy!!
There is no sensible reason for this, I’m fed up of getting ripped off in the UK.

Fine, but when are we going to get a higher resolution sensor in a professional body, a D4x, say.
