A few months ago I went out with my camera during a heavy snowfall. I was fascinated by the way the snowflakes were being lit up by the sodium streetlights, so I shot some images of them. Instead of seeing nice smooth trails, the results show (at 100%) dotted lines. Could you tell me why my camera has represented a moving subject in this way? I used a Minolta A1 handheld at maximum aperture and quite a low shutter speed. The image stabiliser was on.
