A fairly useful primer to an enigmatic man. The interviewer doesn't seem to have got beneath Eggleston's skin especially, but that's the devil's own job. For those interested in the man, I'd recommend (besides his books of course), a video called "William Eggleston in the Real World", despite the scathing review on Amazon's site. The man himself is, as the W piece says, very taciturn, so making a documentary is not an easy thing. If the film is not 100% successful its in the same manner as this interview.
"Eggleston, a man of few words and long pauses" . . . . now that's my sort of photographer! Pity the DVD's region 1, the trailer looks interesting.
Just so long as you have a chipped DVD player (and any decent dealer will do it if not), it'll work just fine.
You don't even need to do that. A lot of DVD players have a code that you can type in via the handset that resets the area code. Type in the name of your DVD player and "region reset" and it should bring up the info you need.
