For a really interesting photographic location try the village and surrounds of of Goreme in the Cappadocia region of turkey. 9 hours from Istanbul by overnight coach. Cheap, comfortable hotels and cheap good food. Can be good all year round. If going between April and Sept., make sure you get up early to photograph the hot air balloons - sometimes they will come right over the village and descend to about 10 feet from the ground. Pics and further info at http://www.goreme.org

Also if in Turkey, try a visit to Izmir. The central gardens are beutifull.

Also have discovered Dalyan is a village with extremely beautiful surroundings - nearest airport Dalaman. I found this website: www.dalyan.co.uk

The turks also love being photographed though they will initially adopt a rather victorian pose, chatting for a few minutes will relax them. For photographing women and children, ask permission of course. And honour any promises about sending them a copy
