It seems the majority of you do not believe the 4/3 system will develop to rival Canon and Nikon over the next three years. In fact, 64% of those who voted said the system would not become a serious competitor, while 28% believe it will. 8% could not make the call.

A 28% vote of confidence is quite significant. I suspect there will have been plenty of people who voted that the system would not become a heavyweight force but who will continue to buy 4/3 products. The vote is for how successful you think the system will be against the big players, not how well will you support it yourself.

Thanks for voting. You can follow the discussions on the subject HERE.

I'd like to see Canon and Nikon get involved in 4/3rds....it wouldn't be a rival system then ;)

Not sure why they don't...IIRC Canon made a film APS SLR so why not a 4/3rds SLR? If they create their own lenses they might sell to more than just Canon users too. (or Nikon of course....do Sony do one?)

They made two APS SLRs (IX & IX7) but they both took standard Canon EF lenses... Not much point in Canon making a 4/3rds SLR to take EF lenses.
Or are you suggesting they make a whole new line of cameras and lenses?
