In this trip, I'm intending to take you all to some of my favourite bits of the Suffolk coast; Snape, Aldeburgh and Southwold. I have dropped Dunwich from the itinerary this time, as I think better justice could be done closer to Easter time, when Orford Ness opens up as well.

Meeting Point: Snape Maltings 10:00 prompt here:

Snape Maltings has lots of photographic opportunities; landscape, old buildings, boats, people etc.

To get to Snape, take the A12 and then exit on to the A1094, and follow the signs for Snape Maltings.

    Next location: Aldeburgh 11:30(ish)

Meeting point in the free beach car park:

Lovely seaside market town; pebble beach, the controversial shell sculpture, more boats, interesting little houses. We'll have lunch here from the best fish and chip shop. There are also some excellent bookshops, should the weather turn on us!

From there it's back along the A1094 to the A12 and head north to Southwold.

    Next location: Southwold 3:00

    Meeting point:
To get there, follow the signs for the seafront. When you see the pier in front, turn right up the hill until you see the canons and mast at the top of the hill. This is St. Johns Green, and there is some parking around here, and back along the hill.

To get to Southwold take the A1095 off the A12.

Really pretty, posh higgledy-piggledy place with old streets, the famous pier, lighthouse, beach huts and Adnams ale!!!

And this is hopefully our final destination:

    Sound good?

Great!!! Thanks for this and see you tomorrow. However, we both have colds  I will definitely be coming (cold or no cold) but I don't know if somebody with woman flu will be up to it  If so, I'll have to drive home

I don't think I'll be able to get up there for 10.00 sharp, so probably best if I catch up with you at Aldeburgh at 11.30ish.

All I'll say is that I found them in the fridge and I didn't know I had them (or at least as many). I won't say what or everybody will be jealous ;) :D

    Exactly :D

Getting up there for 11.30 means I'll actually have to get up as early as I would on a weekday as it is - to get there for 10.00 would mean an earlier than normal start, and I really, really don't do mornings!
