can’t find a link for some reason but went to his exhibition at the Manchester art gallery and was well worth the trip. Great book to back it up for sale for only £25 which is great value for a nicely printed book with some great shots.

I was born to the west of Manchester, remember the blitz, and was brought up in the area until National Service & Uni intervened. I had no choice about National Service, but everyone advised that I ought to go to Uni away from home which I did. Once I'd graduated and got a job in the London area, I visited my parents and Manchester quite frequently, but never really felt at home, as what I thought were the really interesting areas were being torn down. Places like the old covered market area, and Shudehill which got smartened up and gentrified. From 1961 I've got a snap of the Wellington Inn before it was moved.

    Perhaps I'll buy the book.
