I had one of these back in the day, not a bad little camera. Also had an AE-1, and then the wife bought herself an AL-1, the focus confirmation model. Then got an A-1 secondhand . Still got the A-1, AE-1 and the AL-1 upstairs somewhere, sold the AV-1 to a mate.

I also had an AE-1 Program and later upgraded to the Canon EF - big chunky beast, lovely controls.

Excellent! It has finally and definitively settled the issue of which camera manufacturer really does make door-stops. Take a bow, Canon! :D

I for one don't believe the rumour that Nikon's F4-E was nearly as heavy as the McDonnell Douglas aircraft of the same name ;)

I never tried fitting an F4 K (The RN version) into a camera bag but a Nikon F4E did fit.

I applaud any effort to make use of sustainable wood instead of plastic. You only have to Google the words 'Albatross Plastic' and look at the images to see the damage plastic can do :(

There's an opportunity for Greenpeace. Fit big surface trawl nets to their ships and clean up the garbage. Then they could drop it in the harbours of the most polluting countries.
