One last (short) journey and the unfortunate ending … according the person whose journey it was ;)

At the end of the journey, hot, sweaty and bothered, struggling to find a place to park in an unfamiliar city, there is nothing better.....

    at the end is beer.jpg

I drove one of those Bond 3-wheelers for about a mile when I was 17. I still get the shakes thinking about it. :(

Haha I have only just noticed the error in my post. Mixture of predictive text, tiredness and beer.

Years ago I heard a singer called Chris Rohan(?)(was in a duo with Harvey Andrews) singing about the 'Plastic Jesus on my Dashboard', a saviour also capable of concealing certain liquid spirits from the attentions of the police..................

Whilst the Bond was there, I'm guessing none of the revolting Invacars were present?!

And so it's a wet and cold bank holiday Monday (surprise!), there are still armed police in the centre of Nottingham ('being seen'), they were there on Saturday when it was hot and sunny all day, yesterday when it was cool with sunny periods (enough to burn my arms), and again today in the drizzle. I've been out, failed to take any interesting photographs, and so here I am, about to judge yours based on nothing more than my whims and personal preferences.

If you don't get a mention, it doesn't mean I didn't like your photographs, but there are two many to mention directly. Thanks everyone, as always, for submitting them, this is without a doubt my favourite part of the forum.

And so, to the very honourable mentions.

    This made me laugh,

I'm not sure I'd set off on a long journey with only a Jesus airbag for safety.

I loved this shot from @Geren

I especially like the way it's hard to tell if the lettering is on the ground, or on a window.

Also from @Geren is this shot,

which honestly, is a journey I'm a little jealous of.

    I like @Craig20264 's boat

because that has been on one hell of a journey and so have most of the contents.

I like the motion in @Kator Grond 's cycle shot,

and the sense of journey it represents.

I particularly liked the angle in @jpgreenwood 's picture,

and the focal length turns that into a long walk.

I love the three car stack in this from @Andrew Flannigan

almost like a journey of car downsizing over the years.

Finally in this section, this triptych from @Catriona is just wonderful,

I'm left with four entries that I found really enjoyable, and which I personally felt have a strong sense of journey about them.

So, the three runners up, or special recognition award, or people's choice, or some other badge of honour, go to.

This is just fantastic, I love the different tones, contrasts and textures.

This from @Footloose which I can look at over and over and find something interesting,

and this from @Catriona which is unusual, personal and moving,

Sadly, there has to be a winner, and for me that's this shot from @Done_rundleCams which I love.

The picture raises so many questions, and while I can try and retrofit some compositional enjoyment ('I like the L shape the main subjects create, he said'), I don't need them. There's a story behind that journey and I really want to know it.

Well done everyone. Well done @Done_rundleCams - your choice for June.

Very cool pics, Nige, and I've spent a month or two in Sitges,
albeit in mid 70's and early 80's and never saw any of the wee cars

"HOLY CR@P" Thanks very much, Tony, but I'm just supposed to enter, sometimes, humorous, interesting and, on occasion, "ew, icky" photos but, not winning photos  and to other
folks who entered, you all really know that your photos were yards above mine in every respect :)

As for topic ….wow, I feel a headache coming on  …. ;) I shall check on what has already been done -- topic wise -- and post it, either later today (Monday May 29th --- but, remember, I'm
9 hours behind you  -- or tomorrow (Tuesday May 30th).

Cheers and thanks again :) ……
