What photojournalist would really choose to work for CNN or Fox. Bad news for them at the moment, but one day they will be thankful when they get to do some proper journalism for someone else.

Might I respectfully point out that no-one forces anyone to donate images to large media organisations.

Professionals, raise your game or find another market.

The BBC are also noted for using free amateur photographs at the expense of pros. As much as I might like to be published on tele I would not undercut the livelihood of those who take pictures as a job. Of course if I actually made the grade I wouldn't be averse to the proper amount of cash.
How would I know the proper amount? Now that is another quetion.
