I visited my local store yesterday to buy my first DSLR and the guys in there mentioned this price drop. Having done a lot of research, like most newbies, I was drawn to the Nikon 3200 or 5100 until the guys talked to me about this deal.

Managed to get the k-30 18-55mm lens , additional 50-200mm lens, pentax bag, 8gb card, two uv filters all for £499!

Very happy and seems to tick all the boxes for me!

Welcome on board, Carlos! I hope you're pleased with your camera, thats a very good deal indeed. Just be sure to send the £50 cashback form off... i've still got to send mine.

I must say i'm delighted with my K30. Its streets ahead in performance to my old K7 and a pleasure to use, even if its technically a 'downgrade'.

Congrats Carlos ... and didja get the WR lenses? If so, heck, you can come to rainy Vancouver and give 'em a go :D If ya didn't get the WR lenses, do like me and use plastic bags and rubber bands :).

    Cheers,

Love to go, but they are based in Watford so It's a bit far away.

You mean you still haven't bought a DSLR ?
Are you going to wait for the post-Christmas sales now?

Not quite yet, Louise, although it is getting nearer for "YOU" folk ....
    .

    .
.... being 8 hours ahead of moi :D

It's kind of a good news - bad news situation ...

Good News: The Pentax K30 will, inevitably, survive the potential Mayan gig :)

    the

Bad News: the Pentax owners probably aren't as durably built

    ;)

We will have to arrange a forum meet in Salisbury to pass judgement on that one!

Makes sense :) ... it's awful living cross the pond across the continent in the wet coast :(
