This has been a long saga as problems were in theory known about in 2010. However it shows that Leica are sufficiently concerned about the effect on their reputation and the possibility of us long time and loyal users abandoning the brand and new users staying away. My M9 is OK but I'll monitor it and I'd prefer to wait until Leica have developed a fix that can be applied to replacement sensors.

Given the extraordinary new price of Leica M digitals, I wonder if they will ever achieve the longevity or maintain their value, in the way their classic film cameras have done?
With system cameras such as the Fuji X-Pro rangefinder available for a fraction of the price, I would find it hard to justify the purchase of an M digital.

Looks as though a fix may be getting closer.
