A few days ago I cleaned the nozzles on my Epson P50 printer, and to my surprise the subsequent test print not only had more accurate colour than before the nozzle clean, but the mid-tones were lighter, which strikes me as being somewhat counter-intuitive. (I was using Epson inks, and I was printing on "copier quality" paper.) Whatever the technical reason, I'm pleased with the results.

I have an Epson too but not the same model as you, sometimes it does not get used for long periods, when I decide I need a print done I know that it will need a print head clean so before any printing is done I always do a print head clean and after that I always get perfect results....
