    Hi everyone,

My name is Amy. I've been doing photography for about 12 years. I had some pictures published in AP magazine about 10 years ago.
Until recently I was doing music photography but am now trying my hand at wildlife & landscape photography.

Looking forward to chatting with you :)

    Amy

    Hi :)

What was the publishing in AP about? Competition or something else?

    Hi :)

Just in the reader's gallery. 3 pictures, one of my brother holding his guitar and two of strong sunlight coming through windows at the Kew Steam Museum, all b&w.

Good for you. More than I have achieve with AP. :D

That would suggest you have shot on film as well. Yes?

Thanks :) I did kind of bombard them with about 20 photos though.
Yes, I started out with a Pentax ME Super which I bought when I started A level photography at college. I do miss developing film and printing but I must admit I don't miss standing in my freezing cold darkroom/garden shed.
Digital definitely has it's advantages :)

Did some processing back then myself, no printing as I was using E6. I don't miss it at all. :D

I used a Pentax MZ50, still have the manual not the camera.

Ah really? I guess it just takes me back to my college days. I still have the ME Super but its burried away somewhere behind Nikon boxes :)

Does that mean your are Nikon camera user? Or do you just collect the boxes? :D

Haha :) Yes, I do use a Nikon.

Any success with the wildlife etc?

You could post in the Appraisal Gallery. Maybe some of your music stuff as well. :)

Still learning really. Takes a lot more patience than the music! Wildlife isn't always as willing to pose as rock stars are :D

What wildlife are you chasing? Might be some advice on here for you. :)

Candid music shots can be tricky as well ie catching the artist at just the right moment.

At the moment mostly birds. I've been very lucky with a resident sparrowhawk landing very near my house and a red kite that nests near Windsor Castle. I'd love to be able to photograph an owl though.

Music can be tricky. Good fun though.

Birds in flight are a real pain. What Nikon do you have, something with fast AF?

I am trying to work why no one else has said hello?

I tried to photograph the sparrowhawk as it took off but it was like a dart between the houses.
Just a d200 at the moment. Long overdue an upgrade but I can't afford it right now.

Hey don't knock it. I am only working with a highend bridge camera at the moment. Although not a dSLR fan. :)
