Farewell TZ30?

    While away on holiday my much-used (but not abused) TZ30 started playing up. First it decided that the SD card was repeatedly missing. Then it gave up the ghost with a 'zoom error', in reality upon power up there is no hint of lens motors firing up.
    Will look at a repair, but I suspect its RIP!

    That's a bit sad. I've just bought a "mint in box" TZ20 (for its built-in GPS feature), and after a short period of familiarisation, I'm getting to like it. If it had a built-in compass as well (as per my EOS 7D MkII), that would give my heavy DSLRs some serious competition for quite a lot of my "recording views" type of photography.

    Those travel zooms are very useful. I have the Sony HX-90 and it goes everywhere with me unless I'm taking a bigger camera.
