Dimbola Lodge

Discussion in 'News - Discussion' started by JMACNALLY, Jun 10, 2000.

AP has reported the continuing history of Dimbola Lodge in the Isle of Wight, the home of Julia Margaret Cameron that has been saved from demolition.
I paid a visit there last week, and enjoyed the added bonus of an exhibition of landscapes by John Swannel.

I live in Gosport and can almost touch the Isle of Wight, so it is very frustrating having to pay £36 on the car ferry. If it weren't for this fact I would certainly be a more frequent visitor.

I recommend a visit to Freshwater, the Lodge is very friendly and well away from the hurly burly of this popular resort.
