A few weeks ago, i entered the Pentax Facebook UK competition to win a K3. Well I didn't win but I was short listed one of five. I should have asked all of my friends to 'like' my photo and I might have done better.......Oh dear, never mind. :)

Hard luck on not winning, but well done for getting in the top five.

Any chance of seeing the shot?

Thanks Alex, yes this one has done well in other competitions. Sometimes one just gets it together and it works. Mostly though they are just lucky moments. As you can see there has been quite a lot of post processing. This was taken with the K20.

Have you tried selling the photo to a boating magazine? Probably wouldn't pay for all of a K3, but could make a useful contribution.

They could crop it to just the left half if they wanted an upright (although you might need to do some careful uprezzing if they want full page).

Thanks, it was post processed using NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 and the layer blend mode changed to 'Luminance', which restores the colours.

It is an option I had not considered. There are a few 'art shops' in the town who may consider selling it to the holiday makers perhaps. I may do a few at A4 with mounts to fit a standard frame and see where I get with it. Extra funds would be nice.

Beautiful photo, M_B, and being in the top five is nothing to sneeze at :)
