In case not covered elsewhere, the RPS are coordinating a string of events across London from Nov1-6. Start is at the Documentary Group's POTY exhibition off Brick Lane and it rolls on from there.

Pleased to say they have adopted my Doing London project and will be showing a hard copy of the book and trying to flog ebook downloads for their funds. Also showing all pics plus over 100 more on a loop, then they truck it round a few more locations. I'll be there for the opening 5.30 next Sunday so hope to see one or two of you.

Great news. I wish I could come down but winter has set in here with a windy vengeance, so it is hunker down time for us.
Best of luck with everything! Congratulations too.

That's quite handy. We are down in London 5th to the 7th November as my daughter is looking at a couple of Universities for her photography degree so we'll make the effort to visit.

Interesting. Is she looking at the Southbank place? Friend of mine's daughter finished her degree project there last year (link above). Seems like they have the usual creative course, but also something more commercial too. She is now assistant to a pro somewhere.

We have looked at UWL in Ealing so far which she liked the look of and TBH the tutors we met and spoke to came across very well, did a workshop in the darkroom as part of the open day. She really liked it. Next week we are at Roehampton on Friday then LCC at Elephant and Castle. She is into the fine art side of it all and was in fact looking at doing a foundation in fine art first, with a specialism in photography but I think she is looking at a straight BA in photography instead.
Not sure whether she is aware of a place at Southbank and TBH they are blurring into one now!

Yes it was LLC I was thinking of. I went to the grad exhibition there last year. I have another friend whose daughter is just going through the same process. Must say he's concerned about whether she's setting up a career direction, or just indulging an interest.

Becky is not academic at all. Her love and skill has always been in the arts, so it is certainly an indulgence for her but its also where she wants to take her career path (at the moment anyway)! I'll just be happy that she continues her education despite it going to cost us an arm and a couple of legs.

Amen to that. And there's no law that says you have to do what you did at Uni. Mine didn't. Best of luck to her.
