Buddy was complaining that there were no Westies in my Animal Portraits on Black series. So I obliged!

It won't make the final cut but some Westie shot probably will :)

Looks like a shot of the first dog to walk on the moon.:)

my reaction to the first is that a hard and symmetric transition to black, given it is an obviously done thing, might look cleaner. So I'd suggest to draw an arc and fill the black down to it.

How wet did you get for the second shot? There's no way I'd get that low without falling over!

    RovingMike Crucifixion's a doddle...

Yes it is not very convincing, but I can't really see a good fix.

I agree that it doesn't quite work. I might try and leave him on a "mound" with his feet buried slightly in the top of it. Then again, I may just not bother - the shot isn't good enough quality (in RAW) to be seriously considered for a panel.

As to the second shot getting me wet - no. The beach slopes very gently to the sea and it was taken at 500mm on a crop sensor.

Neither can I. But Buddy insisted :)

I will look through my Westies shots for a more suitable image - I have a few in mind.

If you could repeat the first shot in a studio, on a black background it would be really good.
Mind you, it's nice to see a pic of Buddy at any time.:)
