Take part in APOY 2012 Round Two - Natural Light Portraiture
Was looking forward to this round... but just seen the first photo on the page!
Not that it matters when one enters, members may wish to note the closing date:
Entries must be received by 5pm on 30 March 2012
As well as the correct email address and 'copy & paste' instructions
Entries received after this time or not complying, will not be considered.
But may still be charged
Not what the photographer meant when he said "brace yourself"
A rare picture of Fen looking serious
Sorry if this sounds silly but does this need to be a portrait of a person?
Reading the brief:
But might be worth waiting to see if Damien has a preference
That's in your more serious why don't you buy a photo mode from your exhibition.
Did Mr DD get a model release for that?
Many thanks Fen, I did read it honest! just not very well
Personally I'd love to see some examples of creative portraiture, sans a face, creativity is what APOY is about
Thinking caps on.... perhaps
Yeah, I was talking to you at the time! And you still haven't bought one
We are in negotiations about that. *JOKING*
Well... I do have a few photographs of you...
I'm new here and got in my first entry into the Water in the Landscape round.
Am I missing a place where these can be viewed?
They can't actually be viewed as such... When the results are posted, the top 30 images will be posted on the main AP website.
Thanks for that! I'll navigate this site eventually.

It's where the results will be published
This might be a stupid question...
Although it's for natural light portraiture, shots of indoors can sometimes have artificial lights mixed with natural light, for instance, a coffe shop might have lamps and natural light, and the artifical lamps light can be seen on the subject.
Does this count also? Or by no means you shouldn't have any artificial lights reflecting on the subject?
Thanks to all.
This is a strange year indeed - two rounds so far and two rounds entered.
I'm sure I won't trouble the scorers, but I'm keeping true to my promise to myself to at least have a go in each round!
No such thing
Not knowing the answer myself I checked the guidance given which did not provide an answer. As a result I will take a guess that as long as the predomnant light source is natural it will be acceptable.
However as time is on our side I will check and post a definitive answer once I have had a chance to speak with the Editor, who is currently preparing to sit down for some non-traditional Birmingham-not balti-shire fare I believe.
