Mr Thomson has a Pentax *ist DL. He finds he can only use cards with a capacity up to 4gb, except for larger capacity micro cards enclosed in a SD adaptor . There were two firmware updates, the first to allow use of SDHC cards and the second to include more cards as compatible, and both can still be downloaded from Ricoh's web site. They are V1.01 and V1.02. Installing both these should allow the use of any SDHC card up to 32gb. The only limitation is that the top-plate LCD panel and viewfinder will be unable to show the number of images available on the card beyond 999.

That said, 2gb SD cards are still available from Premier Ink: I buy quite a few, as I need them not only for older digital cameras which cannot be updated for larger cards but also for making recordings from DAB.
