Around 40 years ago Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched from Cape Canaveral. Now they are well beyond the orbit of Pluto heading out into interstellar space but still sending back data. For inanimate objects they somehow seem human.

On 6th August every year the Curiosity Rover on Mars plays 'Happy Birthday' to itself - that seems somehow human and a little sad.

On the other hand, it's quite worrying to realise that Mars, our nearest neighbouring planet, is populated entirely by robots...!

    Cheers, Jeff
