Having sung the praises of this compact lens, the perisher failed yesterday. Stopped zooming then stuck open. Fortunately under guarantee until May, but I just saw the repair estimate £104.
Anyone else had that problem? Not sure I can trust it again, so might grab a non-pancake version off ebay quick. I think they are discontinued.

Well I managed to pick up one of the outgoing 14-42 IIR lenses for £90 on ebay. Glad I didn't pay more because it is no better than OK in comparison with the 2.8 Pro and primes like 17mm. Still only a backup. Yet to receive the pancake back.

Not used mine very often but I like it when I do.

Yes I tried it again and it is OK. Got the pancake back now as well, but will take the EM1 and 12-40 Pro to India.
