Well I thought maybe I was misreading it. I figured "some reference to your photographic interest " could just be just what you were interested in photographing, so eg if you liked abstract stuff then a possible portrait of yourself in an abstract form would count. But then seeing everybody else's stuff I thought maybe I misinterpreted it.
Anyhoo I didnt really enter last year and I havent have time to try very hard this month so didnt make anything very interesting.
This is an old one and I never really finished it but if Id entered it would've been something along these lines:
