I'm happy to clarify matters:

There are two 'education' versions of CS3 – one at about £140 which is for students in higher education only (ie universities). The second version is the one we're offering SPI students: less restricted and therefore a little more expensive at £217.37 inc. VAT

This version of CS3 can’t be upgraded and is not for commercial use.
