The light does help since it highlights the wings particularly against the dark background which is not fussy. I like the splash of water next to the bird.

Oh yeah, that is quite good. I like the splash pattern as it catches the light.

A lovely shot!
Shame about the slight burnout behind the head and on the tail, but white feathers are always tricky. The backlighting of the wing is great.

I'd be very pleased with that shot. Yes, the clipped highlights on the base of the tail are a little annoying, and the head is in shadow, but overall the light is very nice.
