ADIDT remote release

I need a remote release for a Canon 20D and either have the option of a £39 Canon item (RS-80N3) or an ADIDT clone on Ebay for about £15. Does anyone have experience of this make?

Thanks

Martin

No, but I'd like to know.
I had a £40 Canon release in my hand in the shop and put it back on the shelve. Decided that for what I was doing the 2 sec self timer would do.
(Really anoyed me that the £40 release for my EOS 30 doesn't work with my

What is it with Canon and their multiplicity of remote release systems? For donkeys years we got by with a simple screw-in cable release. Now we have to have these electronic jobbies.

This wouldn't be so bad if they had at least settled on ONE type but no; they have to have 3 or 4 different ones, not counting those cameras which don't even have remote release sockets.

This couldn't have anything to do with making you buy another release at £40 a time if you change model............could it?..............

3 types, although I think only two are current. It is indeed absurd.

I've found three reviews on the web

Re: shutter release cables

I looked on ebay and found a generic remote made by Adidt Technology in China. I searched for it here on fotn and found a few people have bought from them and are quite happy with their purchase, plus the seller has 1800 good ratings, so it looks to be a pretty good and safe buy. Thanks for your help Bruce

Hi - I purchased one of the Adidt manual releases on eBay and unfortunately it has given problems from the day I received it. - It is just so unreliable, sometimes working when you first plug it in sometimes you have to plug in and remove it several times and some sessions it has failed completely. I emailed the vendor and was told to return the item and they would send another. Unfortunately by the time I paid for return postage, it would have been cheaper to purchase the Canon item locally.

I suggest you are very carefull if you purchase one of these, the quality control seems to be as bad as their website.

I bought a wired remote for my DRebel from Adidt and it works great.

I'm looking for one for the 10D, can't believe the price for something so simple!
Found one on a site called digitalmediastore.com for a tenner, free delivery so gonna get one of those.

I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!
