Fujifilm X10 White Orb Problem. Fix on the way.

I have read that Fujifilm is going to make a statement on the 12/03/2012 about solution they have to fix the "white Orb" problem.

I believe the X-S1 suffers from the same issue. Something to do with how the image engine handles bright spots.

It quite a important fix for those doing low-light photography as it can appear around streetlights etc.

This is apparently Fuji's latest statement:-

This part is particularly interesting:
"We will also develop a modified sensor, which will more universally resolve the ‘white disc’ blooming effect in all modes. We are working hard to make this new sensor available from late May 2012."

Also, "We encourage any customer with an X10 and X-S1 who has experienced the ‘white disc’ phenomenon to call their local authorized Fujifilm service centre".
