How does the Pentax K-01 rate for looks, in your opinion?

Ok. I accept that this camera has much divided opinions as to whether you like it or not, fair enough, but I can't see why it has stirred so much emotion! What really is the problem if a manufacturer brings out a product a bit different from the 'ordinary'. I can only assume photo snobbery is still alive and kicking.

P.S. I haven't voted as I have only seen pictures of this camera. I suspect that is what most others have as well. Please ask again when we have had chance to see and hopefully handle. Views may, or may not, be different. I don't like the look of Black Pudding but it tastes nice..!!

I think the Yellow one will be right at home on the building site with all the JCB and Dewalt gear...

I don't think there is any doubt it can produce results because it is a chopped K-5 which is quite nice dSLR.

But it look like it was designed by a couple of 5 year olds with a box of Lego bricks to play with.

It not about showing the price. Because the Lumix G3 and GH2 look like nice cameras to carry and hold even if they were in wild colours.

The box look is too much 1970s Kodak or disposal as I have said before.

When you look at their other designs they just look more comfortable to me.

Once you drop the mirror you can do any styling you want. This is a poor effort IMHO.

Probably the next version will have snap on shells like mobiles.

You may say that in jest. There are times when you 'fit in' dressed formally and also when flamboyant. I would like a Nikon V3 with shells. To do this properly there would be a small range of alternatives plus a custom service where you email a pattern with your order.

Good idea - id like mine to look exactly like a Nikon D4 with a 14-24 attached. To make it authentic, can I also order the processors and electronics inside as well please....?

I rated it 3/5, but only in black any other colour would, IMO, drag it down,
albeit only in a visual sense.

I'm far more interested in how it handles and how it performs than in how it looks. This camera is not suitable for me on the grounds of handling, therefore its appearance is moot. But I wouldn't want to carry something that looks like a refugee from a baby's toy box, whatever its performance was like and however well it handled.

Cars should be painted colours which makes them easy to see but frequently aren't. Cameras do not need to be easy to see and should therefore be subdued in visual appearance.

Flinking blip, am I the only one that likes the look of the camera then! When the Renault Megane 2 (the one with the "bum")was announced I was immediately impressed with the look but greeted with howls of derision by the rest of the Heelis household, when I bought one and they saw it they too shared my opinion. Pictures didn't do it justice.
