Trying to learn macro photography
colours by Snorri Kristjánsson, on Flickr
Tried & tested subject matter & composition. I like the arrangement and focus, but the light is too directional, creating shadows that are are far too deep, for me. With this subject, the colours are a large part of the overall pic and this one is not as 'colourful ' as it should be.
I'd have a go at either adjusting the levels if it's a RAW file, or better still, shoot again using a more diffuse light or seeing if you can reflect some into the shadows.

It works even better on the diagonal. A cliche, but a nice one![]()
It is a cliche, but one that every one tryed anyway. Diagonal sounds good, gives it something "new" as well.
