    Ladybirds... (2)

I was testing out my latest eBay acquisition (Tamron SP 90mm f2.5), when this little thing grabbed my attention. It didn't hang about, and whilst I know these shots aren't perfect, there's something about them I very much like! These were shot hand-held at f4 or f5.6 (I can't quite remember ), with quick post-processing in ACR (CS4)....

I had an SP 90. Ugly brute, but a good piece of kit, as can be seen here.

    Thanks Mike!

LOL - definitely not the prettiest lens ever, I'll give you that! Like many things in life, I guess it's what's on the inside that counts

Right you are, Alisdair! I have the mother-out-law's 90mm on my F3 at the moment (a great combination, spoilt only by the nut that holds the camera). Sure, the shots aren't perfect, but they are quite charming and the ladybird's colour makes it leap out.

If I may be so rude, how much did the brute set you back?

Not at all - I got it for £87. Not quite as 'budget' as the other FD lenses I've been collecting for use with my GH1, but certainly a lot less than then Pana/Leica 45mm Macro

Having been watching these 90mm lenses come and go on eBay for some time, I reckon that's the going rate at the moment, and a fair price (hope I'm not wrong?).
